Mo-Cu alloy is actually composed of two solid solutions and do not leave the metal alloy consisting of, but the characteristics of both molybdenum and copper, has a good overall performance. Molybdenum copper alloy main features are as follows:
1, high conductivity thermal conductivity properties. Molybdenum metal in addition gold, silver, copper and other metals, the conductivity and relatively good thermal conductivity elements, so molybdenum and molybdenum-copper alloy composed of copper has a high electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity.
2, a low thermal expansion coefficient can be adjusted. High coefficient of thermal expansion of copper, molybdenum has a low coefficient of thermal expansion. Therefore, the application can be made of a combination according to different required components low thermal expansion coefficient, so that they can communicate with other material combinations of the thermal expansion coefficient matched to avoid excessive thermal expansion coefficient difference in thermal stress caused damage.
3, a special high-temperature properties. The melting point of molybdenum 2 610 ℃, the melting point of copper is only 1 083 cC, molybdenum-copper alloy at room temperature and the temperature, both good strength, but also a certain plasticity, and when the temperature exceeds the melting point of copper, the material the copper can be liquefied endothermic evaporation, played cooling (transpiration cooling). This performance can be used as high-temperature materials for special purposes, such as drug refractory lined combustion temperature nozzle throat, under the action of high temperature electrical arcing contacts and so on.
4, the non-magnetic. Molybdenum and copper are non-ferromagnetic metal, so the composition of the molybdenum-copper alloy is an excellent non-magnetic material.
5, low gas content and good vacuum performance. Either molybdenum or copper, an oxide easily restore their N, H, C and other impurities can easily be removed under vacuum to maintain a very low outgassing performance with good vacuum.
6, good machinability. Pure molybdenum metal itself due to the high hardness and brittleness, machining more difficult. The copper-molybdenum-copper alloy material after the incorporation of lower hardness, ductility increases, so is conducive to machining, can be processed into complex shaped parts.
