Based on thermodynamics analyzing of MoO3 reduced by Si and SiC, the experiments have been done that addition CaO in molybdenum oxide (MoO3) to inhibit the volatilization of MoO3.
And the direct alloying using self-reduction briquette of MoO3 reduced by FeSi and SiC individually with the help of medium-frequency induction furnace.
The results show that the addition of about 25% CaO in MoO3-CaO system can effectively inhibit the evaporation of MoO3. If about 36.36% SiC is added in self-reduction briquette of MoO3 as reducing agent.
The yield of molybdenum is more than 96.5%, and if about 40.82% FeSi is added in self-reduction briquette of MoO3 as reducing agent, the yield of molybdenum is more than 97%.
