High-Purity Solid Solution As A New Type of Molybdenum Alloy

The technology and some properties of a new high-purity molybdenum alloy doped with Ti and Zr are described.
With the help of double vacuum melting polycrystalline ingots of 110 mm in diameter were obtained.Throughout the work the chemical compositio%n of the ingots was homogeneous as well as the grain structure.
However, this drastically differed from coarse polycrystals usually obtained in analogous conditions.As a result of hot pressing, rolling, forging or drawing the bars, sheets, wire or thin foil may be easily obtained.
