Molybdenum Glass Melting Electrodes Impurities Content Control

molybdenum electrodes

The quality of molybdenum glass melting electrodes have greater impact on the furnace using efficiency and glass quality, and therefore in order to expand its applications and to improve the quality of the glass, to manufacture high quality molybdenum electrodes has great significance. To manufacture good high quality molybdenum electrodes should control the impurities content:

1.To strict control the ingredient of molybdenum powder, the main raw material of molybdenum electrodes is molybdenum powder, so to strict control molybdenum powder impurities can effectively control electrode impurities. Electrode C content too high will cause glass bubbles and colored (yellow) and Fe and Cr content too high glass will turn to green color and Ni content too high glass shows purple color. During molybdenum rod production process, there is not big change on metals and non-metallic content, except C, N, O, H due to the sintering process chemical reactions may have greater change, so during raw materials selection should strictly control the composition of the metal and nonmetal.

2.To improve the sintering process reduces C, O content. During sintering, there is a series of complex reactions, gas adsorption analysis, oxide reduction, material diffusion, flow and recrystallization and so on, so it makes the material shrinkage, densification and improves the purity, where C, O content has great change. Improve the sintering process can make C, O2, H2 can react more fully and the reaction of H2O, CO and other products can release from the product to reduce C, O content to produce excellent performance molybdenum electrodes.

3.Production environmental control, under normal circumstances, during the production of electrodes does not increase impurity elements content, but if the production environment is poor,  in powder loading and sintering process may increase the impurities content, and therefore should be strictly control workshop cleanliness.

4. Improve the accuracy of component analysis
