Molybdenum electrode also known as molybdenum glass melting electrode, mainly because molybdenum electrode having good high temperature strength, good corrosion resistance and long service life, and it is often used in glass furnace for daily-used glass, optical glass, insulating glass, glass fiber materials and other glass marital production, so it is often referred to as molybdenum glass electrode.
Molybdenum electrodes mainly manufacturing by powder metallurgy method, which can be produced into plate or rod shape or according to the drawings produced into a variety of different shapes. Physical and chemical properties of molybdenum electrode are substantially similar to molybdenum. The molybdenum content of electrode is 99.95% and the density is greater than 10.15g / cm3. The melting point (liquid) is 2620 ℃ and hardness is 85HRB Min. Electrical conductivity is about 30% IACS Min. Conventional molybdenum electrode diameter size ranging is from Ø20mm to Ø152.4mm and the length can up to 1500mm.
Molybdenum electrode has high melting point, good corrosion resistance, high strength, but also has good thermal conductivity, ductility and low emissivity. Compared to tungsten materials, molybdenum electrode is a softer texture and has better toughness and elasticity modulus, so it has widely used range. Molybdenum electrode is not only commonly used for glass production, but it also has widely applications in other field. It can be made of sputtering targets, heating elements and fasteners, lighting stent mandrel wire, reflective screen and so on used in various high-temperature fields. In the electronics industry, it is often made of anode, gate electrode, auxiliary electrode, and gasket. In the high temperature furnace it often is made of heating elements, heat shield, and electrode used in furnace. Besides, it is also made of container, boat and heaters used for vacuum plating and sputtering. Molybdenum electrode is also often used as welding, spraying material for surface treatment. What’s more, it is also often made protective sleeve and thermocouples for and temperature measurement.
