Producing Titanium Zirconium Molybdenum Alloy Methods

Producing titanium zirconium molybdenum alloy (TZM) methods are arc melting-casting and powder metallurgy.
Arc melting-casting method, firstly, making arc melts molybdenum and then by weight percentage adding a certain amount alloying elements such as Ti and Zr. Finally, obtain TZM alloy by conventional casting methods.
Using powder metallurgy method produce TZM should mix molybdenum, THi2 powder, ZrH2 powder and graphite powder firstly which is in proportion and uniformly and then through cold isostatic pressing. Secondly, follow the below processes, such as high temperature hot-rolled under a hydrogen atmosphere, high temperature annealing, hot rolling in the middle temperature, middle temperature annealing relief stress then warm rolling to give TZM finished materials. Comparing powder metallurgy with arc melting-casting method, powder metallurgy saves vacuum consumable arc furnace, large presses, hammers, the corresponding high temperature furnace and other large equipment costs, process more simple, shorten the production cycle and reduction consumption. Besides, the production capacity and the yield can be improved, so the cost is greatly reduced.
