TZM alloy Description

TZM alloy (molybdenum zirconium-titanium alloy) is a molybdenum alloy made of mainly titanium zirconium molybdenum. The key of technologies in high hardness and high temperature molybdenum alloy is the manufacture of P / M or arc casting process.

Molybdenum alloy contains more than 99.2% up to 99.5% molybdenum, 0.50% titanium and 0.08% zirconium and carbide. The strength of TZM alloy is twice as pure molybdenum at temperatures exceeding 1300 ℃. The temperature of TZM alloy recrystallization is about 250 ℃, higher than molybdenum, which provides a better weldability.

Compared with pure molybdenum, TZM alloy has a higher recrystallization temperature and high strength and hardness at high temperature. It also has sufficient extensibility. Because the composite carbide arc circular dispersing around molybdenum matrix, which has superior mechanical properties. TZM alloy are suitable for ignition work, because it's a combination of the application of high temperature, high hardness, good thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion of the hot work steels.

TZM alloy can be used to make static, sintering and heat treatment furnace components, annealing and sintering process vessel (temperature up 1400℃), medical diagnostic rotating anode and forming tools, such as plastic injection molding runner nozzles, light alloy die casting and billets isothermal forging molybdenum alloy (titanium, zirconium, and molybdenum).

TZM alloy can be used in the mold insert casting aluminum, magnesium, zinc, iron rocket nozzles, hot stamping.
