Molybdenum is one kind of rare refractory metal. Molybdenum alloy not only is widely used to make stainless steel and other iron and steel materials. but also has wide application prospects in aerospace, machinery, metallurgy and other fields because of the good thermal and electrical conductivity, high temperature resistance and other advantages of molybdenum alloy. Chinese molybdenum reserves, output and consumption all rank the first in the world.
At the same time, molybdenum has low temperature brittleness, low strength, poor ductility. Molybdenum alloy is difficult to be furtherly processed. So the applications of molybdenum alloy are restricted. So for many years, the molybdenum alloy products in China are mainly the primary products of molybdenum, like TZM molybdenum alloy. Researching and developing molybdenum alloy materials with better performance and more added value have the extremely vital significance for the development of China molybdenum industry.
At present, rare earth oxide dispersion is mainly adopted to strengthen molybdenum alloys in the world. But molybdenum oxide and molybdenum powder are solid state when they are mingled, which not only makes the strengthening effect be limited, but also makes molybdenum alloy be prone to have early dilaceration. How to improve the strength, ductility and toughness of molybdenum alloy has been a challenging problem in the metal field.
