Cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy (CoCrMo) is a cobalt-based alloy, also commonly referred to as a Stellite (Stellite) alloys, is a wear and corrosion resistant cobalt-base alloys capability. The initial cobalt-based alloy is cobalt-chromium binary alloys, cobalt-chromium-tungsten after three yuan to develop into the composition, and then later developed a cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloys. Cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy is cobalt as a main ingredient, contains a considerable amount of chromium, molybdenum and small amounts of nickel, carbon and other alloying elements, and occasionally also contain an alloy of iron. Depending on the alloy composition, they can be made of wire, powder for hardfacing welding, thermal spray, spray and other technology can also be made from castings and forgings and powder metallurgy.
Cobalt and chromium are two basic elements of a cobalt-based alloy, molybdenum can be added and, after fine grain casting or forging high strength. Cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy, is basically divided into two categories: CoCrMo alloy and CoNiCrMo alloys;
1, the first category is CoCrMo alloy, usually casting products; recent years, Beijing Iron and Steel Research Institute, Beijing Science and Technology Co., Ltd. of financial products, Beijing melting point metal Co. developed to produce deformed after cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy products, processes improved greatly improve the mechanical properties of the material;
2, the other is CoNiCrMo alloy, typically (hot) forging precision machining. Cast CoCrMo alloys have been used in dentistry for decades, and is currently used to manufacture artificial joints, forged CoNiCrMo alloy used to manufacture heavy load to bear large joints such as the knee and hip joints.
